Baby Solar

How companies are emitting greenhouse gases / how can alternative energy be applied?
Recently I was discussing with someone the opportunity to the Government of the installation, a cap-and-trade system on American companies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. I said that a baby step in the right direction would be, but I think we need a stronger solution, such as the development and eventually mandated use of alternative energy sources (solar, wind and wave energy, for example) instead. However, I was wondering if the same applies to the topic at hand? What processes happen exactly in the company as much greenhouse emissions? And that could be alternative energy for the original methods of production replaced?
One of the reasons for this is difficult is that many companies Things that produce greenhouse gases (and) the individuals. Just to name a few: - heat buildings and furnaces - operate many, many different types of machines -- Drive vehicles short distances - Drive vehicles through the country - operate ships and aircraft, a solution that is well suited for these purposes are usually not for to work more. So we always come up with solutions to individual problems. And a little progress.
